News & Events > CONGRATULATIONS! Coffeeville High School Golden Apple Award for 2008-2009
Coffeeville High School is really no longer the High School in Coffeeville, Alabama. Instead, the community has renovated the charming historic building to accommodate students in K-6th grade. And what a beautiful building it is. The minute on walk through the door, you feel a real magic inside. For the past two years the administration and staff have diligently adhered to the principles of Direct Instruction. Their hard work and excellent teaching have moved their students to the top of the list when it comes to student achievement. The minute you walk into the classrooms, you see and hear, students and teachers highly engaged in the lessons, participating with joy and learning, learning, learning. Because of their dedication, and the resulting outstanding improvement in overall reading achievement, ERI was most proud to have awarded the staff and students the Golden Apple award for this school year. Recently, an ERI representative spent a day of observation and celebration with some of the key people instrumental in Coffeeville’s success. Those pictured in the photograph starting left to right include: Ms. Moss, Ms. Marbley, Ms. Carter, Ms. Wright, teacher representatives. Ms. Richardson, Principal, Mr. McKinney, ERI, Ms. Cates, ERI Consultant to the site, Ms. Fluker, D.I. Coach, Ms. Ann Scogin, Clarke County,District Administrator.
